Fixed price, hourly or subscription: which is right for you
Three ways to pay an agency, what each one is good for, and the questions to ask before you sign.

How you pay an agency affects more than your budget. It changes how risk is shared, how fast work moves and how easy it is to stop. Here are the three common models and when each one makes sense.
Hourly
You pay for the time spent. It sounds fair, but you carry the risk: if the work takes longer than expected, you pay more. It also gives the agency no reason to work faster.
Good for: small, unclear tasks where nobody can estimate the work yet.
Ask: is there a cap, and what happens when it is reached?
Fixed price
You agree on the scope, price and timeline before work starts. The agency carries the risk of the work taking longer. Anything new is quoted separately before it is done.
Good for: clear projects with an end, such as a website, a store, a brand or an app.
Ask: exactly what is included, how many revision rounds you get, and how changes are priced.
This is how we price every project: one price, one timeline, 50% to start and 50% on delivery, with two rounds of changes.
Subscription
You pay a flat monthly fee and send as many requests as you like. The team works through them one or two at a time. You can pause or cancel when work slows down.
Good for: ongoing work that never really ends, such as landing pages, ads, site updates, decks and small features.
Ask: how many requests run at once, how fast each one is turned around, and whether you can pause.
Our plans start at $1,395 (₹35K) a month. See them on the subscription page.
A simple way to choose
You need one thing with a clear end: fixed price.
You need a steady flow of small things: subscription.
You are not sure what you need yet: a free audit or a small fixed project first, then decide.
Many clients do both: a fixed-price project to launch, then a subscription for everything after.
Red flags in any model
No written scope before work starts.
Long contracts with no way to pause or leave.
Unclear ownership of files, code and accounts.
Prices that are only revealed after several calls.
